Art 101 -- Survey of Art History I
focuses on the understanding and appreciation of architecture, painting, and
sculpture from its origins in prehistoric times to the early Gothic period.
Art 102 -- Survey of Art History II
focuses on the understanding and appreciation of architecture, painting, and
sculpture from the Renaissance through modern times.
Art 130 -- Design I
provides a fundamental understanding of and control over the elements of design
principles and the manipulation of those principles in solving design problems.
Art 150 -- Drawing I
builds a strong foundation in the basics of art, which promotes future success
as pictorial organization and various means of representing the three
dimensional form on a flat surface are explored.
Art 152 -- Life Drawing I
uses techniques ranging from quick sketches to progressively more detailed
representational drawings of both the human and the animal figure. Emphasis is
placed on anatomy, proportion, structure, personal expression, and the art of
visual appearance.
Art 201 -- Drawing for Animation
focuses on the visual expression of inner structure, of weight, energy,
personality, and emotion; a notebook of sketches and drawings from life is
required.
Art 205 -- Fundamentals of Animation I
provides students a classical animation education in the essentials of
animation techniques, effective composition, and color in motion.
Art 206 -- Fundamentals of Animation II
students continue to explore the art of effective composition and the process
involved in bringing an idea from concept to completion.
Humanities 115 -- World Mythology
students analyze ancient myths and explore the role that myths play in
societies. The cultural impact of myths from ancient time to the present are
explored.
